Catching Fire

It's been forever since I blogged about knitting. I am really hit and miss with it but I just wanted to post my newest creation. It is an amalgamation of crafts. I think I pretty much combined everything into this one piece. I had to learn how to crochet in order to make this. Apparently I was that dedicated. I love this piece. I wear it even though The Man thinks I look like I walked off a Star Trek movie. It is warm and cozy. I love the look of it. You may recognize it. I actually went to see the Hunger Games just to get some glimpses of this Maria Dora piece that has been dubbed the Katniss Cowl. Though hers was woven, the majority of my piece is knit. I hope you like it.

 I tried to remain as true to the design as possible since that is what made me fall in love with it but I decided on a darker colorway so that it wasn't exactly the same. It was made for me but modeled by my daughter so it looks ill-fitted on her.
